The DN Charter is a non-binding document that outlines the key principles and governance for the Digital Nations group, signed by Ministers at the annual summit to reaffirm the commitment of the member country. The Charter was reviewed and updated in 2020.
Drafted by the Data 360 working group, this shared declaration was presented at the D9 Ministerial Summit in Uruguay in 2019.
The Secretariat is a centralized point of contact for the Digital Nations, working on behalf of all member countries.
Established in 2018 to enhance administrative capacity in an expanded and increasingly ambitious group, the Secretariat provides continuity between transitions and facilitates the exchange of information within and outside the group.
The Secretariat is supported by in-kind contributions by Canada and the United Kingdom.
